| Year | 2023– |
|---|---|
| Materials | Cloth, rope, water balloons, water, pigment, participants |
| Location | Toyama Park, Shinjuku, Tokyo |
| Format | Participatory installation / performative painting (traces generated by throwing, bursting, splattering) |
This participatory work comes into being through the act of throwing water balloons filled with water and color. The burst of pigment at the moment of rupture sits on the border between intention and chance, control and its absence, dismantling the notion of a single author.
The traces left on the support differ with each participant's movement, distance, force, and emotional state; the same result never occurs twice. The subject of the work is the process of generation rather than a finished object — each participant's act is at once making, play, and communication. Feelings carried by each single throw gather into one large work: art born of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
